As we embark on the new year, there are many exciting opportunities underway at FCC. Here’s one historical change for all those graduating in May 2024. President Cheek announced that after collaboration among Commencement ceremony planners, as well as employees and student leaders, FCC’s 2024 Commencement will be hosted at Mount St. Mary’s University on May 16th at 4:30 pm! “Our goal this year is to accommodate as many of our students, their family members, and supporting faculty, staff and friends from the community, as possible”, said Pres. Cheek when she indicated to senior leaders that this might be a possibility. As she said, “We are here every day to create the right conditions for the successful completion of our students. This is their day of celebration with family and all who sacrificed to help them get to this moment. And we want space for as many as possible to attend in one common space.” Mount St. Mary's University offers increased seating capacity, with its facility accommodating over 3,700 people compared to on-campus facilities of a maximum of 1,900 seats. Our supportive volunteers are diligently working through the logistics of this change to ensure a smooth transition for everyone involved.
