FCC Announces Speakers for 3rd Season of Moving Mountains Series

Frederick Community College will kick off the third season of its popular Moving Mountains speaker series next month. The free monthly series features inspiring professionals who share their life experiences and encourage teens and young adults to set the bar high in all areas of their lives.

The October 2017 to April 2018 speakers will be:

October 4 – Eric Kruszewski
National Geographic Creative Photographer and Student Workshop Leader

November 8 – Tammy Feaster
Owner/VP of Administration, Spherion Staffing

January 10 – David Trader
Scientist, US Army Center for Environmental Health Research (USACEHR) Lab, Fort Detrick

February 21 – Korey Shorb
Founder, Up & Out Foundation

March 21 – LTC Brian Moore
Scientist, US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) Lab, Fort Detrick

April 11 – Noah Grove
Paralympian, 2017-18 USA National Sled Hockey Team member

The speaker series is free and open to the public. Teens and young adults of all ages are encouraged to attend.

The sessions take place from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Jack B. Kussmaul Theater, located inside the Visual and Performing Arts Center at FCC. Students who attend three sessions will receive a certificate of participation and leadership.

More information about each speaker will be provided closer to each session date.

Sessions will include a brief introduction, presentation, and question and answer session. Some sessions will also include musical performances by students. For more information, please contact Mike Pritchard by email or 301.846.2417.
