08/10/2020

The FCC Foundation has made an additional $250,000 in scholarship funding available to students for the 2020-2021 academic year. The FCC Foundation Opportunity Grants will provide eligible students who register for six credits or more one $500 scholarship for the fall semester and one $500 scholarship for the spring semester that can be used for tuition, fees, books, or other materials. The deadline to apply is Saturday, August 15 at midnight.

“We know many of our students are facing financial hardships as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said FCC President Elizabeth Burmaster. “We are grateful to our FCC Foundation for always stepping up for our students and providing financial assistance that makes it easier for them to reach their academic and career goals.”

The newly announced Opportunity Grants are in addition to the more than 800 scholarships totaling $800,000 that will be awarded to students this fall.

“Each semester, FCC students inspire us with their determination and drive to succeed,” said Deborah Powell, Executive Director for the Office of Institutional Advancement and the FCC Foundation. “The FCC Foundation is proud to be in a position to provide scholarships to so many students, and we thank our incredible donors who make that support possible.”

To be eligible to apply, students must already be enrolled at FCC for the fall semester. The application period will be open until August 15, 2020 and can be completed electronically at https://frederick.academicworks.com.
