FCC Moving Mountains Series Welcomes Lieutenant Colonel Brian Moore May 9
05/02/2018
Lieutenant Colonel Brian D. Moore, DVM, Ph.D., will be the featured speaker at the FCC Moving Mountains speaker series Wednesday, May 9 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the JBK Theater, Visual & Performing Arts Center.

The monthly series features inspiring professionals who share their life experiences and encourage teens and young adults to set the bar high in all areas of their lives. All sessions are free and open to the public.

Moore was originally scheduled to speak in March but the date was postponed due to inclement weather.

Moore is Director of Biocontainment at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases, and has served in the United States Army for 25 years. He earned his doctorate in comparative pathology/virology from University of California, Davis, and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University. Moore received a bachelor's degree in animal science/pre-veterinary medicine from Cal Poly where he played collegiate football.

The title of Moore's talk is, "Achieving Goals - Everything I learned about achieving success I learned in the weight room and football field."

"I plan to share the attributes I believe were instrumental to my accomplishments as a father, husband, football player, veterinary clinician, research scientist, and Army officer," said Moore.

There is no pre-registration required to attend the Moving Mountains series. Students sign in when they arrive, and those who attend three sessions this academic year will receive a certificate of participation and leadership. Moore’s talk will be the final session of the 2017-2018 speaker series.
