FCC to Host College Night for Area High School Students
09/27/2016

Frederick, Md. – Frederick Community College will host admissions representatives from more than 100 colleges and universities at its annual College Night on Wednesday, October 5, 2016.

Area high school students and their parents are invited to attend the event in the Athletics Center on the FCC campus from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

“Each year, this event gives Frederick County high school students an opportunity to talk face-to-face with someone from the college or university they hope to attend,” said Marie Staley, Assistant Director of Admissions. “This is a great chance for students to ask questions and get immediate feedback.  We welcome students who plan to attend FCC and then transfer to a four-year college or university as well as those who plan to enroll in a four-year school right after high school.”

This year, representatives from Hood College, James Madison University, Mount St. Mary’s University, Salisbury University, Shepherd University, Towson University, University of Maryland, Virginia Tech, and many other colleges and universities will be on hand to talk to students.

FCC has provided College Night guides to area high schools to help students prepare for the event. The guide includes a list of the colleges and universities that have been invited, suggests questions students should ask, and lists information students should consider when talking to admissions representatives.

Attendance at College Night last year exceeded 2,000 people. The FCC Admissions Office expects another large turnout and recommends participants enter campus through the north entrance, across from Monocacy Middle School, for parking.
