08/23/2016
The Frederick Community College Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR) has named Kelli Ackiewicz as its Program Manager. Ackiewicz has served as the ILR Interim Program Manager since June.

In this position, Ackiewicz is responsible for developing and managing the ILR instructional program and creating an engaging curriculum for its students.

“ILR is in great hands with Kelli.  We are thrilled to have her serving this role at FCC,” said David Croghan, Vice President for Continuing Education and Workforce Development. “Kelli understands the importance of continuously aligning our course content and formats with our students’ interests to ensure we are providing new and exciting classes that engage and challenge our community members.”

Before working in ILR, Ackiewicz was a project manager for the FCC Continuing Education department, where she helped grow the College workforce development program. Since 2010, she has also been involved with the Woman to Woman Mentoring Program, which started at FCC and has since grown into its own non-profit organization.

Ackiewicz has held previous positions as the environmental planning program manager for the Commander of Navy Installations and as a program and project manager for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, both in Washington, D.C.

Ackiewicz received her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a minor in Environmental Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.

“I look forward to getting to know the ILR students and faculty and working with them to ensure that this premier program continues to serve and enrich the adult 55 and over community of Frederick County,” Ackiewicz said.
