About Our Department


The Construction and Applied Technologies Institute (CATI) provides workforce training opportunities for in-demand industry skills that can lead to rewarding careers in Computer Aided Design, Construction Management, Electrical, HVAC, and Welding. Program tracks include both credit and non-credit options and training can be obtained in as little as two semesters. Credits can also be applied towards an associate degree.

State of the Art Training Labs

CATI provides hands-on learning in fully equipped modern training labs for the Electrical, HVAC, and Welding programs. Students will acquire valuable entry-level skills practicing on the latest equipment and machinery and be prepared to join the workforce immediately upon program completion.

Expert Instruction

Students will learn sought-after skills from top experts in the field –all CATI instructors possess extensive knowledge in their specialty and local industry, bringing decades of experience directly into the classroom through practical examples and experiential learning exercises.

CATI Financial and Scholarship Resources

Most CATI credit and non-credit programs are eligible for financial or scholarship resources, including payment plans, FCC Foundation Scholarships, Maryland Promise Scholarships, and Workforce Development Sequence Scholarships.
