FCC Accepting Applications for Parents Lead Program 2018
06/06/2018
Frederick Community College is accepting applications for the second cohort of the Parents Lead program, designed specifically to help parents attend FCC and earn a degree.

Created for financially-eligible parents of young children, the program provides specialized curriculum, advising services, and funding to offset the costs of childcare while parents attend evening classes.

“We know our students who are parents balance demanding responsibilities at home, work, and school,” said President Elizabeth Burmaster. “They often have to pay for childcare while they complete their coursework. FCC is committed to helping all our students overcome challenges, and this Parents Lead program is designed to make it easier for parents to earn a degree.”

The cohort-based program includes a combination of online and on-campus evening classes and can be completed in as few as five semesters. Additional financial aid is also available to assist eligible students at FCC with tuition and fees.

The program is designed primarily for students seeking an A.A. degree in general studies while also assisting those who wish to transfer into alternate degree and certificate programs.

Students in the second cohort will begin classes in fall 2018.

Space in the Parents Lead program is limited. Interested parents should complete this online application by July 1 for best consideration.

Parents Lead is supported by the FCC Foundation.
