How far in advance must requests be submitted?
Interpreting or transcription requests are to be submitted within (5) business days prior to the date of required services. We cannot guarantee a service provider for requests submitted without this notice.
How do I know how many interpreters to request?
Interpreting agencies will evaluate the number of interpreters required to ensure the best possible accommodation – providing a detailed description of the event allows agencies to determine the number of providers necessary.
Typically, 1-2 service providers will be assigned for assignments extending over an hour.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancellations for requests must be made (3) business days in advance to avoid charges.
Student cancellations are to be directed to:
[email protected]
Faculty/staff cancellations are to be directed to Human Resources:
[email protected]
I submitted my request – what happens now?
Upon submitting your request, you should receive an automatic email to notify you that your request has been submitted and directed to the proper party - this is not a confirmation that a provider has been assigned.
Once your request has been processed, an FCC staff member will be in touch with your official confirmation. Please regularly check your email if you are awaiting confirmation.
What materials should I submit with my request?
Submitting preparation materials is a priority to ensure your service provider(s) can provide the best possible accommodation to meet the needs of your request.
Here are some examples:
- Meeting agenda
- PowerPoint presentations
- Promotional flyers
- Invitation email
- Communication Central posting
- Scripts/outlines
What if I do not have access to preparation materials?
If you have not attached prep materials to your interpreting or transcription request, please supply any resources as soon as they become available to you.
If you are unsure what materials to include, you may request materials from the event organizer and forward along to the staff member who sent your service request confirmation email.
