Annual Student Events
Co-curricular Events and Calendar
The Student Leadership and Engagement office partners with faculty, staff, student groups, and community organizations to bring dynamic speakers, programs, and events to FCC. We call these events “Co-curricular” because they work in concert with academic disciplines, supporting what you’ve learned in class. The calendar is a constant work in progress and it lists the monthly events planned.
Field Trips and Excursions
Visit some of the region’s most popular social, cultural, and historic spots. The Student Leadership and Engagement office office arranges these trips for all students, faculty, and staff. To participate, simply visit the Student Leadership and Engagement office, located in the Student Center, H-101, to sign up.
Welcome Back and Spring Fling Picnics
There’s nothing better than celebrating our community with free food, live music, and events and activities. At the beginning of the fall semester and at the end of the spring semester, we put together a College-wide social event to welcome and celebrate the start and finish of another wonderful year.
Evening Student Social
The Evening Student Social is a “welcome event” for all FCC students taking evening classes. The event features free food, information tables to connect you with College programs and services, and an opportunity to socialize with fellow students.
Mental Health and Wellness Events
FCC recognizes the importance of holistic health and wellness and the role it plays in learning. Each semester, the Student Leadership and Engagement office plans a variety of health and wellness focused events to educate, empower, and engage the College community in dialogue and action on critical issues facing our society. Programs include workshops, speakers, movies, and events that showcase issues such as drug and alcohol awareness; addiction recovery and services; suicide awareness and mental health support; domestic and dating violence support and assistance; and stress management and counseling support.
Voter Registration
FCC encourages all students, faculty, and staff to exercise their privilege and right to vote in national and local elections. Voter registration forms are available in the Student Leadership and Engagement office, located in the Student Center, H-101, or in the Welcome Center, located in Jefferson Hall. Maryland residents can also access information and forms online.
