Signature Student Events

Welcome Week
Student Leadership & Engagement hosts events the first week of fall and spring semesters to welcome students to campus. Students are invited to grab a free breakfast sandwich on the way to class, stop by the part-time job fair, and meet friends at the Afternoon Bash. Details on each event will be included in the weekly student e-newsletter NewsBlast, as well as the College's website calendar of events.

Field Trips and Excursions
Visit some of the region’s most popular social, cultural, and historic spots. Student Leadership and Engagement arranges these trips for all students, faculty, and staff. To participate, simply visit the Student Leadership and Engagement office, located in the Student Center, H-101, to sign up.

Welcome Back and Spring Fling Picnics
There’s nothing better than celebrating our community with free food, live music, and events and activities. At the beginning of the fall semester and at the end of the spring semester, we put together a College-wide social event to welcome and celebrate the start and finish of another wonderful year.

Evening Student Social
The Evening Student Social is a “welcome event” for all FCC students taking evening classes. The event features free food, information tables to connect you with College programs and services, and an opportunity to socialize with fellow students. We host Evening Student Socials on both the main campus and at the Monroe Center.

Holiday Celebrations
Fun activities and events are planned to celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving, Winter break, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, and Earth Day.

Outdoor Movies
Bring your lawn chair or blanket and join us for a movie on the lawn! Free and open to the community.

Service Learning/Community Service
If your class has a service-learning component or you are interested in volunteering in the community, Student Leadership and Engagement can help connect you with our community partners. Be sure to check out the Wellness and Service Fair each semester where you can talk to our community partners regarding service opportunities.

Student Club and Organization Events
Events planned by student clubs and organizations are open to all students on campus. It is a great way to meet new people that share the same interests as you!

Stress-Free Finals Week
Don't let finals stress you out! We will have free snacks, fidget toys, coloring pages, and more to help you stay stress-free throughout the week.

Community Event Tickets
Student Leadership and Engagement purchases tickets to some community events and makes them available to students free of charge. Students can pick up free tickets to each event, with their FCC student ID.
