Student Government Association

Time spent in the classroom is just part of your experience as a student at FCC. Make new friends, gain leadership experience, explore personal areas of interest, and meet others who share those interests by joining clubs and organizations.

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the primary affinity group that represents the voice of the student body.

Recognizing the final authority of the Board of Trustees in matters of governance of the College, SGA provides a forum for the expression of student views on issues that affect them and promotes the development of leadership skills for all students.

SGA selects student representatives to:
  1. Participate in College governance and the decision-making process
  2. Develop social, cultural, and educational programming
  3. Allocate funds generated by the collection of student activity fees

SGA Funding - Student Activity Fees
The Student Activity Fee is a fee charged to all credit students each academic term. The revenue generated goes into a special account administered by the SGA to fund social, recreational, and cultural events; clubs and student organizations; authorized student travel and service trips; and annual signature student events such as New Student Convocation, Success Week, Welcome Week, and Wellness Events. The fee is charged on a credit-hour basis for up to a maximum of 10 credit hours.

SGA supports student learning by encouraging and recognizing the formation of clubs and organizations that engage students in a wide array of social, cultural, and educational offerings.

Copies of the SGA Constitution and information on club meetings can be found by contacting the Office of Student Leadership & Engagement in the Student Center (H101).
