Public Safety Update
03/12/2024
On Tuesday evening, March 12th, Frederick Community College’s Public Safety officials initiated a lockdown of FCC’s Main Campus, as a precautionary and safety measure, in response to the report of a gun on campus.

With the assistance of Frederick Police Department’s resources for a thorough building sweep and campus investigation, no firearm was observed and no immediate compromise to safety was determined.

The report was alarming but not credible, the lockdown was lifted and normal activities resumed. A full investigation is underway so police may be seen on campus this week.

We are grateful for the prompt and wise response of our Public Safety officers, Frederick Police Department, employees and students.

Thank you all.
